'm swarms of fruit flies in my compost, is this normall?

I have one of these green composter johana how well cooked in Sharing food, etc. If you have the top of a huge flock of what I think fruit flies, not very nice, but if you become a normal part of putting up process. Is this normal?

It sounds as if the air mass is not sufficient or brown. Turn often and put something like dry leaves. There should be no odor. States in a compound outdoors I've seen, not fruit flies, although there were some in the house!
