I have a problem with indoor composting?

Trying to be greener and have an indoor composter is a very filter.It small.Trouble is fruit is full of flies that always fly, if I find something in its place. (yuk). I drink when half full, and clean with bleach.Don t "probably someone had the same problem.

Can you compost outside? I suspect the only way might be to solve the problem. We use an ordinary plastic swing bin in the kitchen waste for compost and emptied when full, loads of insects in storage boxes outdoors, none in the kitchen bin.
